The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on gentle N-facing slope. Site is contained within small field immediately S of public road. Oval area (34.5m N-S) defined by scarped edge, outer earthen bank and intervening fosse (Wth 2.6m). Scarped edge (H 0.5m; Wth 3.3m), best preserved along S arc, lowers at N (H 0.2m). Outer bank (int. H 0.9m; ext. 0.6m) is overlain by ruinous stone wall NNW->NE; otherwise bank is masked by dense overgrowth. Break in bank (Wth 2.5m), matched by dip in scarp, at E. According to tradition 'this fort is said to have been used as a burying place for children' (OSNB vol. 1, 105). No trace of burials now evident though most of interior is covered by dense overgrowth.
