The National Monuments Service's description

A castle held by the Nash family from at least the 16th century; they built a country house on the site in 1740 (Westropp 1906-7, 208). This house is a ‘3 storey eighteenth century house with a tripartite fanlighted doorway … plasterwork of mid-eighteenth century type in hall ceiling; staircase of good joinery with gallery.’ (Bence-Jones 1978, 20). The house was restored in the 1970s (ibid.).
