The following description of this monument is taken from 'The Urban Archaeological Survey of County Limerick' compiled by John Bradley, Andrew Halpin and Heather A. King (Office of Public Works, 1985).
"Tapering limestone slab, in two sections, at the chancel end of the site of the old church. Decorated in false relief with an eight armed cross with geometric terminals, rising from a stepped base. Gothic inscription: IOANNE MOE/ISEAGHAN 1545.
