The National Monuments Service's description
On S shore of Shannon estuary, atop low oval rise (c. 25m E-W; c. 14m N-S) bounded by high-tide shoreline to N and surrounded elsewhere by marshy ground subject to flooding. Rise covered in places by dense overgrowth. Centrally placed along S edge of rise is low rectangular sod-covered platform (c. 10m E-W; c. 8m N-S) in which stones are evident, especially along its edges, but none are mortar bonded and no structural edges are apparent. Further stony banks are evident atop rise but these are largely obscured by overgrowth. Nothing appears to be known of the site's history (Donnelly 1994, vol. 2, 130).
