The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the gentle W-facing slope of a steep hill in rolling pasture, with good views in all directions. The ground is gently uneven in the area of the monument. Marked on the 1923 OS map as 'Carn (Site of)'. Lynch (1911-13, 25-6) refers to a mound at this location where 'from time to time large portions of the mound…have been removed, and about 100 years ago the skeleton of a man, buried in standing position, was found in the mound.' There was no evident trace of the cairn when the site was inspected.
