The National Monuments Service's description
Westropp (1906-07, 151) recorded the following details about Creggane Castle; 'Not marked in Skehacreggaun. 1336 J. Scoler held lands near the old C[astle]. of Creggane, given after Cloghkeating and Island duane (Rental). 1656 Lands held by N. Stritch (C.S., xxxii., p. 26)'.
