The National Monuments Service's description
Situated in low-lying, gently undulating pasture, immediately S of the Limerick-Waterford railway line. The monument is masked in the W by grassy vegetation and in the E by dense scrub vegetation. Sub-oval area (c. 38m NW-SE; 29.2m E-W) defined by a gentle scarp and enclosed by two fosses and an intervening bank. The scarp (Wth. 1m; H 0.1m) is evident from NNE to NNW. The internal fosse (Wth. 2m) is U-shaped. The intervening bank (int. H 0.4m; Wth. 2.7m; ext. H 1.1m) is gently scarped on the interior and rounded on the exterior. There is a gap in the SW (Wth. 7.7m) in which there is a growth of Hawthorns, surrounding a mortared stone pillar. The external fosse (Wth. 5.7m; H 0.7m) is flat-bottomed. It is not evident to the W.
