The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture within the former grounds of Elmpark Demesne, 175m S of Barnakyle River that marks the townland boundary with Doon. Not depicted on either the 1840 0S 6-inch map or the 1897 25-inch OS map. Identified by Paul O’Keeffe, Mid-West National Road Design Office when it was described as following; ‘Found on foot of landowner submission regarding the proposed Foynes to Limerick Road Scheme. A limestone upright a little over a metre high' (pers. comm. P. O’Keeffe, 2015). Visible on Google Earth orthoimage taken 19/11/2019 with traces of relic field boundaries to N and W.
