The National Monuments Service's description
The precise location of Ballyeaghera Castle in the townland of Corcamore has not been identified. Westropp (1906-07, 147) recorded the following details about Ballyeaghera; 'Unknown; probably in Ballycarney. 1583 C[astle]. named. 1640 Lease to J. Dowglass of Ballyvolloge and Ballycherna. 1655 He claimed the interest on behalf of his wife (daughter and heir of F. Sexton) and their daughter, against H., Earl of Bath (C.S., p. 21)'.
