The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, atop hill with panoramic views over surrounding countryside. Circular area (40m N-S; 38m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.05m; ext. H 2.65m) with external fosse. Bank well preserved all around but external height greatest at N. It lowers to a scarped edge (H 1.7m; Wth 7.7m) E->ESE. Bank damaged externally at ENE where interior recently linked by raised passage (Wth 4m) to adjacent pasture field. Causeway entrance at SW (Wth 5.5m). Fosse (D 1.95m, max. Wth 3.5m) narrows along N arc (Wth 2.10m). Interior, under pasture, slopes gently down to S; two ESB poles stand in SW quadrant. Outer edge of fosse abutted by converging field boundaries at N. Public road runs tangentially to SE arc.
