The National Monuments Service's description

One of four fishtraps (LI010-157----, LI010-158----, LI010-159----, LI010-160----)
identified in Robertstown River. They were discovered by ADCO during the Environmental Impact Assessment for the Capacity Extension at Foynes, This fishtrap forms a substantial feature and is in a very good state of preservation as it is largely buried by silty clay. It comprises of a curvilinear post-and-wattle structure which extends 43.2m in a SSW direction. Over sixty upright wooden posts with interwoven hazel rods were recorded but it is likely that it further extends up the foreshore.
