The National Monuments Service's description
The precise location of Clonecanane castle within the townland of Clonconane has not been identified. A large tower house like structure with angle turret standing beside a cluster of dwellings (LI005-058002-) is depicted in the townland of 'Clonecanane' on the 17th century Down Survey map of the Barony of North Liberties (Hib. Reg.; Westropp 1906-7, 82).
