The National Monuments Service's description
The Urban Survey of Limerick recorded the following details about St. Mary Rotunda Church; ‘Listed in the inquisition of 1200-1 as the church of "Sancte Marie Rotunda" (MacCaffrey 1907, 28). One document cites it as "Sancti Marci Rotunda" (ibid., 27). Its site is unknown. It may be the same as the church of St. Mary Magdalen listed in Bishop Donatus O’Brien’s ordinance of Its site is 1204-6 (MacCaffrey 1907, 116)’ (Bradley et. al. 1985, 327).
Westropp gives the following details; 'St. Mary's Round Church. Only named in Inq., 1201, "Ecc.
S. Marie Rotunda" (Westropp 1904-5, 359).
