17th century graveslab in St. Mary's Cathedral (LI005-017015-) described in the Urban Survey of Limerick (Bradley et. al. 1989, 323) as following; ‘William York. 1679. This slab is inserted in a column on the left of the choir:

THIS MONUMENT WAS ERECTED BY/ WILLIAM YORKE, TO YE
MEMORY OF HIS/ DECEASED FATHER, ALDERMAN/ WILLIAM YORKE,
WHO LIES HERE IN/ TERD: WAS THRICE MAOIR: GAVE ABOVE/
FOUR HUNDRED POUNDS FOR BUILDING YE/ EXCHANGE FREELY
BESTOWED IT ON THE/ CORPORATION: CONTRIBUTED TO YE BELLS
AND/ CHYMES WHICH WERE CAST AND/ SET UP IN HIS
MAOIRALTYES: WAS/ CHARITABLE TO THE POORE: CONSTANT/ TO
HIS FRIENS: DYED IN THE TRVE CHRI/ STIAN FAITH THE LAST
YEAR OF HIS/ MAOIRALTY APRIL 1 1679 AETATIS/ SUAE 42
