The National Monuments Service's description

Medieval building listed as House G and described in the Urban Survey of Limerick (Bradley et. al. 1989, 264) as following; ‘Some "fragments of medieval walls, with windows" were noted by Westropp (1904-5, 360) on what is now the site the Gerald Griffin Memorial School (CBS), Bridge St. The wall in question forms the south-east angle of the school yard and is plastered over internally concealing any features. Externally, the south wall forming the rear wall of Des Bourke’s premises (No. 3 George’s Quay) is overgrown with ivy and no features are visible. The only visible features are on the east wall, on the lane running north-south between George’s Quay and Court House Lane; here there is a fragment of wall, c.3m long and 6m high which has a blocked, segmentally arched door at ground level and a row of dressed limestone quoins (possibly a window jamb) at the south end. The masonry is of roughly coursed rubble limestone. Westropp mistakenly believed that this was part of an Augustinian monastery'.
