The National Monuments Service's description
A rectangular pit (0.9m x 1.1m; D 0.2m) filled with heat fractured stones was excavated here in 2000 prior to road construction of the M1 Motorway (Excavation Licence No. 00E0948). The excavator suggests it may be the trough of a destroyed fulacht fia. (Campbell 2002, 233)
