The National Monuments Service's description
Fagan tomb, probably sixteenth-century and consisting of a rectangular end panel with the heraldic symbols of Fagan. Above the shield is a helmet, crest and bust of a man holding a spray. The letters M and F are incised below the shield (CLAJ 1953, 34).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (entry 958) (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
