The National Monuments Service's description
The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007
A series of roughly-parallel banks and ditches running downslope at the edge of a ravine enclosing an area of c. one and a half acres. The banks and ditches are not shown on the 1835 OS 6-inch map and the area is merely marked as being marshy. It may be that these features are part of a relatively modern drainage scheme.
