The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Situated on a natural terrace at the W end of a high ridge. Circular, level area (diam. 12m, H 0.5m) enclosed by a fosse (Wth 4.7m, H 0.7m internally, 0.9m externally). The bank has been disturbed on the W and the fosse recut at this point in recent times. The site is divided in two by a modern fence running NNW-SSE.

This monument is subject to a preservation order made under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014 (PO no. 3/1998).
