The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Situated on the summit of Mt Oriel, in an alignment with LH020-005001- to the NW and LH020-005003- to the SE. Circular, round-topped mound (diam. 22.5m, H 3m) enclosed by a fosse (Wth 5.5m, D 0.5m) from NNE-E-SE, though faint traces of the fosse remain elsewhere (overall diam. 32m N-S). Halfway up the mound is a berm-like feature (Wth 1.5m-2m) but this may be due to landscaping.
