This is a very small slab of fine-grained yellow-brown sandstone roughly rectangular in shape (0.81m by 0.37m, max. T 0.09m) with ring-headed cross. It has a very short wide shaft and a stepped base, giving the impression of a rather squat high cross. The ring and stem were hollowed out originally to give the cross false relief. More recently a deeper depression and a channel were cut in the ring and stem of the cross. (PRIA 61C, 99-100). One of three cross-inscribed stones situated in the porch of the nineteenth-century Protestant church (see also LH018-064010- and LH018-064011-).
The above description is derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
