The National Monuments Service's description
Present Church of Ireland church said to be built on site of medieval parish church which is recorded in the Visitation of 1690 as ruinous. No medieval fabric visible in present church. (Davies 1943, 206)
The above description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991).
