In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

In 1941 during turf-digging in Ardee Bog a togher was found, consisting of two parallel lines of poles with cross-pieces of planking laid across them and fastened to the old ground surface with pegs. (ITA Survey 1940; CLAJ 1941, 238-9; CLAJ 1942, 157)
