The National Monuments Service's description

'Church' marked on the 1835 'OS 6-inch' map and later marked as 'St. John's Church' on the 1911 ed. A gothic style rectangular chapel (L 21m; Wth 9m) built in 1803 and in use until the 1920s. In ruinous state.
