The National Monuments Service's description
Discovered during the construction works associated with a new dwelling (Excavation Licence No. 04E1559). (Excavation Licence No. 04E1559). It 'consisted of an upper passage (L. 4.5m) and lower passage (L. 8m) linked by a trapdoor. Both passages were served by air-vents. The roof had evidently collapsed or been removed in ancient times at the point of recent access. A large quantity of souterrain ware and animal bone was found on the passage floor below the break in the roof. The backfilled passage heading towards the original entrance was not investigated.' (Campbell 2007, 268-9). Found alongside an Early Christian burial ground (LH008-121----), a second souterrain (LH008-125----), a furnace (LH008-126----) and a number of pits. (Campbell 2007, 268-9)
