The National Monuments Service's description

Discovered during the development of playing pitches at Dundalk Institute of Technology (Excavation Licence Nos. 02E0008 (area 19) and 02E0654). Excavation revealed two hearths (see also LH007-159001-) and a pit. One of the hearths had three stakeholes either side of it, which probably represented the remains of a spit. (Mossop 2002, 34-5, 47; Mossop 2004, 378; O' Hara 2004, 380-1)
