The National Monuments Service's description
Discovered during the development of playing pitches at Dundalk Institute of Technology (Excavation Licence No. 02E0008 (area 9)). Excavation revealed a hearth (L 1.1m; Wth 0.46m; D 0.16m) dated to the Iron Age (calibrated radiocarbon date of 180 BC–AD 130) and containing alder and williw charcoal and a large quantity of cereal grains, mainly barley.
