The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Souterrain consisting of a passage (L c. 4m, Wth 1.2m, H 1m) running N-S with a drop-hole at the N end giving access to a second passage (L c. 5m, Wth 1.2m, H 1m) continuing N. At the N end of the second passage is a second drop-hole giving access to a third passage running W (3.5m) then N (3m) and terminating in a beehive chamber (diam. 3m, H 1.5m). (CLAJ 1932, 497-9)
