The National Monuments Service's description
Test trenching (Excavation Licence No. 98E0161) along the NE end of Back Lane uncovered what appeared to be a very large pit or terminus of a ditch. Pottery dating to the 13th/14th century was recovered from the fill of this feature. (Moore 2000, 139-40)
