The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Situated on the W slope of Carrabane mountain. Roughly circular area (int. diam. 21.5m) enclosed by earthen bank (Wth c. 3m, H 1m). The bank has spread down the slope so that there is a drop on the E down into the interior of the ringfort, and on the W a resulting drop from the interior to outside. The bank itself is interfered with by the construction of a modern laneway and field walls. No visible trace of fosse or entrance.
