The National Monuments Service's description

The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007

Situated on the summit of a long, high ridge extending WNW-ESE, the site consists of a circular area (int. diam. 24m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 3m, H 0.35m). A low embankment outside the circular area forms a rectangular enclosure (dims. 30m NNE-SSW, 28m WNW-ESE). This embankment is 0.75m-1m above an external fosse (Wth 2m). The NNE side of the site is interfered with by the building of a modern field fence immediately outside it. (CUCAP, APG 77)
