The National Monuments Service's description
On a WSW-facing slope in low-lying pasture, with extensive views in all directions. A small, oval, steep-sided, earthen mound (H 4-6m; dims. at base c. 26m ENE-WSW; c. 21m NNW-SSE) with a relatively flat-topped summit (c. 20m ENE-WSW; c. 13m NNW-SSE). A shallow fosse (Wth 4.7m; D 0.5m) separates the motte from the bailey, which is to the NE. The bailey comprises a low, roughly square platform (11m NE-SW; 11m NW-SE) defined by a scarp (H 0.2-0.75m). The motte and bailey are encircled by a largely infilled, wide, shallow fosse (Wth 10.1m; max. D 1m).
