The National Monuments Service's description
Originally recorded as a transverse piece of brushwood, one peg (diam. 0.03-0.04m) and one longitudinal roundwood (diam. 0.2m). Excavation in 2002 revealed a hurdle panel (1.5m x 0.7m) overlying a togher (L 5.3m; Wth 1.6m) on one side of a drain. The togher, aligned NW-SE, was composed of eleven parallel roundwoods with some interspersed brushwood. It may have extended across the drain and over the adjacent field surface. There were sightings of a similar alignment on this lower field but unfortunately these were destroyed before the excavation could commence. If the sightings were part of the excavated togher, then it may have been 22m in length (minimum) when first constructed. A rim fragment of a turned wooden vessel was discovered beneath the togher during the excavation. It appears to have been a small and shallow bowl (surviving height 0.05-0.06m; diam. 0.13-0.15m) made from alder. The excavation yielded an Iron Age date range of 300-200 BC (Whitaker 2009, 59). (Whitaker 2004d, 350)
