The National Monuments Service's description
Originally recorded as a substantial and complex structure; excavation in 2002 revealed a togher (L 90m) orientated ENE-WSW. Its composition was unusual in that it comprised relatively small roundwood (diam. 0.08m max.) and brushwood, which may indicate that the bog was relatively dry at the time of its construction. Its size and orientation suggested that it most likely traversed the width of the bog. It yielded a date range of 300-200 BC (Whitaker 2009, 66). Further evidence of the togher (exposed L 2.6m; Wth 0.95m) was discovered some 51m to the SW as three closely set roundwoods with brushwood and twigs. (Whitaker 2004i, 352)
