The National Monuments Service's description

Flanking the gateway in the E wall of the graveyard (LF022-032001-). This is the N example (H 0.72m; Wth 0.61m) of two limestone plaques. The inscription, in Roman capitals carved in relief, reads 'ORA PIE LECT/OR PRO R.P. HUBE/RTO CAHILL VICC/ARIO DE KILDACO/MOCK ET SHRVE[R]/ QVI RETROERE /AM SACRISTAM IN/ HONORE BMAE V M/ARIAE SUIS EXPE/NSIS FIERI FECIT/ AO D 1649' (Pius reader pray for reverend father Hubert Cahill, vicar of Kildacomock and Shrule, who had the rear sacristy (?) built in honour of the most blessed Virgin Mary, at his own expense, in the year of Our Lord 1649).
