The National Monuments Service's description
Associated with Formoyle House (LF021-010002-). By 1681 the house had become a weekend or countryside retreat where one could 'rest contented and enjoy the full pleasure and satisfaction of the country in hunting venison and then eating it' (Kenny 1995, 58). The deer park was located in an area known locally as the 'wood-parks', which ‘stretched from Connor's shore to the rocks in Cullentra … the walls surrounding it are easily recognisable with a style of their own' (ibid., 57). Its precise location has not been identified.
