The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture surrounded by bog. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and on the OS 25-inch plan (surveyed 1911) as an enclosed area defined by a bank and fosse. A field boundary overlay the bank from N-NE and another curved around it from NE to SSW. On inspection in 1976 (SMR file) a curving stretch of a substantial earthen bank, incorporated into modern field fences, was visible at S and W. A ditch on the S side of the bank may have marked the line of the fosse. On an OSI aerial photograph (SMR file) the outline of the E half of the rath is now visible as a curving field boundary, while the W half is visible as a cropmark.
