The National Monuments Service's description

In 1595 'the Hospital, Termon-Irenagh, or Corbeship' of 'Clonoghrir' was endowed with nine small cartrons' (Gwynn and Hadcock 1970, 347). Clonoghrir has been identified with Ballynakill (McNamee 1942b). The exact location of this 'hospital' is unknown but it probably stood in the vicinity of the church (LF013-045002-).
