The National Monuments Service's description
Situated in pasture on top of a hill overlooking the River Shannon, which is c. 350m to the W, and c. 75m to the NW of Aghamore House. A circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 25m) is depicted on the 1835 edition where it is described as a ‘Fort’ and it is depicted as a hachured feature on the 1907 edition. No archaeological feature is visible at ground level in pasture and it might have been a tree-ring.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
