The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a gentle W-facing slope at the S end of a NNW-SSE drumlin ridge. It is represented as a large enclosure rather than an antiquity on the OS 6-inch maps. This is a subcircular grass and rush-covered area (dims 54m E-W; 47m N-S) defined by an overgrown perimeter consisting of a rounded fosse (Wth of top c. 6m; int. D 1.2m; ext. D 1m) N-NNE which is reduced to an eroded fosse (Wth of top 10m; int. D 0.4m) NNE-E and a narrower fosse or drain (Wth of top 4m; int. D 1m; ext. D 0.2m) E-SSW. The fosse is removed by farm buildings at SE, and the perimeter is defined by a scarp (H 1.5m at W) SSW-N. There is an entrance (Wth 2m), probably modern, at E, and there is a plantation of coniferous trees in the W part of the interior.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
