The National Monuments Service's description
In the centre of Lough Bofin in the River Shannon. Mac Raghnal reputedly had a castle at Innismurrin (McGivney 1932). Innismurrin is now thought to be Rabbit Island, but it is labelled as Abbot Island on Navigation maps (Blaney 1944, 124). Any castle remains unlocated, unless the cairn (LE035-029----) is the last remnants of it.
