The National Monuments Service's description

Cloonturk Lough is a small oval lake (dims c. 300m N-S; c. 180m E-W) in a low-lying basin. which can flood to its old extent (dims c. 600m N-S; c. 270m E-W) as represented on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map, although. Wood-Martin (1886, 243) lists it as having two crannogs, but no supporting evidence is provided and this crannog remains unlocated.
