The National Monuments Service's description
Located on the S-facing slope of a drumlin. This is a grass and rush-covered circular area (int. diam. 24.9m E-W; 22.8m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at N: Wth of base 3.7m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1m) with no visible fosse. The perimeter is incorporated in a field bank NE-SE and there are entrance gaps at SW and NNE, but the entrance (Wth of base 4m) at SE could be the original, although widened. The rath has remained unplanted in a forest since 2000 (OSAP).
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
