The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a slight rise in a fairly low-lying position. This is a grass and scrub-covered circular area (diam. 43.6m E-W; 41.7m N-S; int. diam. 39.5m E-W; 37m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth of base 3.5-4.55m; int. H 0.55m; ext. H 0.9-1.3m), with traces of an outer fosse (Wth of top 3.7m; Wth of base 1.4m; ext. D 0.15m) N-E. The perimeter is incorporated into field banks E-S-NW, and a water hole has been created outside the bank at SW. There are entrance gaps at NNW and S, but the original entrance is not identified. The raths (LE032-018----; LE032-019----; LE032-020----) form an E-W line c. 120m to the N.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
