The National Monuments Service's description
Situated in reclaimed pasture on the flood-plain of a NW-SE section of the River Shannon, with the river c. 50m to the SW. It is depicted as a rectangular enclosure or field with a structure in the centre on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map and as a rectangular field on the 1945 revision. This is a grass-covered rectangular area (dims 24m NE-SW; 23m NW-SE) defined by the remains of a fosse at SW (Wth 7m) and NW (Wth 4m), with the remains of a field bank at SE and a scarp at NE.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
