The National Monuments Service's description
Within a field of recently cleared fertile pasture surrounded by conifer plantations on old parkland associated with Drumhierny Lodge, which had been laid out by P. Latouche and were worthy of note (Lewis 1837, vol. 2, 214). This feature is indicated as a circular copse feature on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map. No feature is visible at ground level in pasture.
