The National Monuments Service's description

Located at the bottom of a SW-facing slope on the W bank of a N-S stream. It is marked as a sweathouse only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map with no houses in the immediate vicinity. It is said locally to have been removed for road material, and no feature is visible at ground level.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
