The National Monuments Service's description

Located on the W bank and in the bend of a S-N stream and at the bottom of a steep E-facing slope with no houses in the vicinity. This feature is indicated, but not described, on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map. It is a collapsed stone structure in a mound (ext. diam. c. 3.5m; H 1.4m) with an entrance (Wth 0.5m; H 0.5m) at E which is still intact.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
