The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the N bank of an ENW-WSW stream, and known locally as Poll a Tresheen. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (dims 17m E-W; c. 15m N-S) defined by a line of boulders on the bank of the stream E-WSW and by a steep quarry-like face (max. H c. 7m) W-N-E. There is no evidence of a mass-rock. (Gallogly 1993-4, 434; 1999, 400)
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
Date of upload: 23 September 2008
