The National Monuments Service's description
Situated at the S end of a flat-topped ridge of grass and scrub-covered rock outcrop (dims c. 250m NE-SW; c. 35-40m NW-SE) overlooking the W end of Belhavel Lough. This is indicated as an oval linear feature (dims c. 20m NW-SE; c. 10m NE-SW) only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map. No feature is visible at ground level.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
